Lovely pine birdhouses that you can also plant. Treated with linseed oil and adorned with custom decorations.
This was made for my wife’s birthday. Constructed with red oak and stained gunstock soaked in linseed oil. The chimes and sail are chemically patinaed to bring out beautiful blue hues. Left untreated the copper will age additionally, some of the blue may wear or wash off and the colors will change over time. The hardwood extra rounded striker creates a distinctly louder strike which can allow the chimes to be heard inside with the windows closed. If you wish to hang your chimes next to your patio table I’d suggest a softer wood flat paddle striker to create a calmer more peaceful environment.
This is the first wind chime I ever made constructed of scrap pine that was behind my house and some half inch copper pipe left unfinished it has a beautiful soft twinkling sound that I love.
